Yagi Villas
Kephalonia, Greece
The Yagi Villas on Kefalonia are a true hideaway. A place where tranquility, style, and Mediterranean elegance blend seamlessly. These picturesque accommodations are nestled amidst the breathtaking natural scenery of northern Kefalonia, just a short drive from the island's most beautiful and spectacular spots, such as Myrtos Beach, Fiskardo, and Asos. The stylish, modern design of the Yagi Villas creates a harmonious atmosphere that offers both relaxation and inspiration. Enjoy the view of the golden sea with a refreshing glass of Robola, let yourself drift away, and forget the everyday world – a perfect retreat!
This are the villas
The Yagi Villas are located in the north of Kefalonia, just before the village of Fiskardo, considered one of the most beautiful places on the island. They can be reached in about an hour by car from Argostoli Airport via well-maintained and relatively quiet roads. The journey itself is a highlight, as the road winds impressively over mountain ranges, and in the final stretch along the cliffs, offering wonderful views down to Myrtos Beach and the picturesque village of Asos.
Before the village of Magganos, the road branches off to the left towards Tzamarelata, and after 5 minutes you will reach the villas. They are beautifully nestled in a lush green Mediterranean landscape with olive trees, laurel trees, cypresses, and pines. A few private houses and a small holiday home complex with 4-5 cottages are scattered around the villas. It is quiet and peaceful. Only the chirping of crickets and the occasional tinkling of goat bells can be heard in the distance, but they immediately put you in a state of peace and relaxation. The air smells of thyme and blooming jasmine. You arrive and immediately feel at home!
The Yagi Villas are built to a very high standard in the traditional style as stone houses. It's truly impressive to see that the exterior walls are constructed from hand-hewn, solid stones. The spacious outdoor saltwater pools and expansive terraces are also exceptional. The sweeping panoramic sea views to the west are magnificent. Spectacular sunsets are guaranteed! The three villas form a relaxed group; you're aware of your neighbors, but you always have peace and privacy.
The villas vary in size. Villa Ki is a single-story villa with 54 square meters of living space, ideal for couples. Villas Ka and Chi, each with 95 square meters spread over two floors, are suitable for families.
Each villa boasts a tastefully landscaped Mediterranean garden that blends seamlessly with nature. Ancient, gnarled olive trees are beautifully illuminated at night, while during the day, countless bees and bumblebees buzz around fragrant lavender bushes. Occasionally, neighborhood cats pay a visit.
Nick, the owner and operator of the villas, personally attends to his guests and is always available. Guests receive a warm welcome and are surprised with a welcome pack with premium local products such as a wonderful fruit basket, a bottle of wine, bread, and ingredients for a Greek salad. Of course, there were also pastries, nuts, olive oil, honey, and even Greek coffee capsules for the coffee machine. Naturally, water was also provided in the refrigerator. What more could you ask for? When Nick gives a tour of the villa and explains everything, you immediately sense how proud he is of his villas and how passionately he cares for his guests as a host. Everything has been thought of, even the little things that I've often missed in other comparable properties. And if you needed something, a quick WhatsApp message and it was taken care of.
All villas feature a private pool, spacious terraces with lounge furniture and a dining area, parasols, free on-site parking, a barbecue, and beach towels. A further advantage: all patio doors and windows are fitted with high-quality mosquito nets, so you don't have to worry about mosquitoes inside.
See below for further interior details.
The villas are marketed by Entheos Villas, a collection of various villas on Kefalonia.
Living
The villas are finished to a very high standard and feature high-quality furnishings. They are decorated in the trendy bohemian style. It's worth noting that all the furniture was custom-designed and tailor-made specifically for the Yagi Villas by the greek interior architect Freni Markantoni. The furnitures are all handmade in Greece. The interior design incorporates traditional elements and translates them into a modern aesthetic. Natural materials create a pleasant living atmosphere. High-quality linen on the beds guarantees a restful sleep.
The two fully air-conditioned villas, Ka and Chi, each have two bedrooms and a large living room with a sofa and a large smart TV. The open-plan kitchen and dining area flows seamlessly into the living space. Naturally, the kitchen is fully equipped with state-of-the-art appliances. In addition to a dishwasher, there is also a washing machine, iron, and ironing board. An espresso capsule machine, toaster, and microwave are also provided.
Villa Ki is slightly smaller and has only one bedroom, but otherwise offers similar amenities to the other, larger villas.
Sleeping
The bedrooms are spacious and airy, offering plenty of room and ample storage. The color scheme of the rooms and furniture creates a harmonious atmosphere. Great care has been taken in selecting high-quality mattresses and linens. It feels more like a 5-star hotel than a vacation home. Attention has also been paid to many details that contribute to a successful stay. In mid-June, I always slept with the window open and didn't always need the air conditioning, as a pleasantly cool breeze provided welcome relief at night.
The bathrooms are spacious and offer useful toiletries as well as high-quality cosmetics.
Top-quality mattresses and linens contribute to a restful sleep. Villa Ka had two king-size beds.
Highlights and what's gorgeous
The villa's prime location in northern Kefalonia is truly "gorgeous." It boasts a magnificent view of the sea, absolute tranquility amidst lush countryside and nature. Yet, Fiskardo is just a short drive away.
Nick, the owner of the complex, personally attends to his guests and is always available. He manages the villas with great passion and genuine hospitality.
The villas are designed to a very high standard and are spacious, with a strong emphasis on stylish interiors. They are thoughtfully and attractively furnished.
Pure Greek joie de vivre: Enjoying a few drinks on the terrace at sunset, preparing a delicious BBQ, and gazing out over the Ionian Sea. Listening to the chirping crickets and the distant tinkling of bells from the sheep and goats, and losing track of time... I have rarely experienced such profound relaxation as here!
Another highlight is the spacious private outdoor area with a large pool, several covered terraces, sun loungers, parasols, outdoor seating, a built-in barbecue, and a dining table.
The balcony on the first floor offers breathtaking sea views. See picture below.
Why go there?
The villas are ideal for those seeking peace and quiet, but also for families. Anyone who values quality and individuality will appreciate them. Fiskardo is the starting point for sailing and boat trips around the Ionian Islands, for example to Ithaca, Lefkada, and the most beautiful bays of Kefalonia. Tourism in northern Kefalonia appears to be rather upscale.
Around the Villas
Yagi Villas are beautifully situated in a central location for exploring the highlights of the island's north. Asos and Myrtos Beach are easily accessible. Sami and its caves are also within easy reach. The stunning Antisamos Beach, with its beach clubs, can be reached in an hour.
Fiskardo is just a short drive away. From there, you can take various boat trips to the surrounding islands. Ithaca is definitely worth a visit! Secluded bays with turquoise waters invite you to swim. You can also explore Kefalonia's west coast by boat from Fiskardo, especially the aforementioned Myrtos Beach. Fiskardo is also the port for boat trips to Lefkada, making it ideal for island hopping. Dafnoudi, Kimilia, and Emplisi Beach are smaller beaches around Fiskardo, some requiring a longer walk, but all worth visiting. My personal favorite is Alaties Beach. Just a small, rocky cove, but the location is idyllic and the water quality is superb! Alati, one of my favorite restaurants on the island, is right on the beach!
Note: The island's size shouldn't be underestimated; the roads are winding and progress is slow. So plan plenty of time, especially for the drive to/from the airport (approx. 1-1.5 hours). However, there isn't excessive traffic on the island.

My tips
Be sure to visit Restaurant Alati! It's just a few minutes from Yagi Villas. Delicious Mediterranean cuisine and a fantastic location on Alati Beach, facing west, guarantee unforgettable evenings with stunning sunsets!
We also highly recommend the tavernas Vegera and Makis. Reservations are definitely recommended.
Another tip: Take a boat trip to the neighboring island of Ithaca or along the coast. Boat rentals and charters are available in Fiskardo.
Groceries can be purchased in the nearby village of Magganos or in Fiskardo.
If you enjoy beach clubs: There are several on Antisamos Beach, with comfortable sunbeds and good restaurants. It's easily reachable in about an hour. Alternatively, Myrtos Beach is a half-hour drive away.
